Secretly away

*He is handsome and he is charming…Where is Rafael?
*When I make my first fashion design it will have to be made in burlap material…or fille…but I’m sure it will be a cotton shirt first then burlap
*Despite the depressing economic downturn, I’m not at all saddened by it because I think opportunities are still opening up in cities like New York where all my friends are.
*Jens F. by Collier Schorr is still the best book I have ever seen!
2nd ILLIseries
July 26, 2009
This second series touches only on a few things as it is still at its experimenting stages. The practice of curating is done out of necessity because of my interest in doing so. However, I am excited to showcase two new artists, Michelle Johnston and Val Suasnavas to the illiseries. This platform may not have gotten a lot of feedback just yet but it’s an open platform for a particular reason of extending visual art online with the use of internet devices.
ILLIseries #2: Habitude is about the behavior of looking. The tendency is somewhat taken for granted but the act of looking invites information in as well as interpretation. Michelle Johnston’s compositions are carefully imagined with the belief that the latent images correspond with each other, resulting to a beautiful interpretation of a place. Val Suasnavas’ photograph portray a character in a specific location are purposefully injected with a personal situation which are then observed and conveyed. Elleser Galleta’s approach is simply an extraction of images of a television actor, manipulated and repeated forever to describe a never-failing attraction.
This project is intended to proceed with various ideas and as an extension to my conviction.
